Atlantis Rugby scoring a try at Tropical 7s in 2025

2025 was another great year for Atlantis Rugby featuring 7s and 15s across a range of age groups from middle school through to senior adult players.

Our first competition of the year was Tropical 7s during Easter. We sent 10 sides to Florida and came away with 6 top 4 finishes. The U14 Girls led the way with a 6-0 record and the tournament championship and right behind them were the U16 Boys Premier and Open sides which each finished second. The U16 Girls Elite and U14 Boys also made the podium with third place finishes.

Next up was Summer 15s with our Academy that had been doing weekly sessions to supplement the work that the players had been doing with their home clubs. Ther U16 Boys and U19 Girls had matching 4-0 records at the Buckeye Invitational in Ohio and the U19 Boys followed up with a 4-0 record at the Mount Invitational in Maryland to give us a 12-0 record in 15s this summer.

Our other Summer event was in late July when we sent 3 Girls sides (U18, U16, U14) to the North American Invitational in Utah the same weekend that a Senior Women’s side competed in Elkhart, Indiana. 29 new Atlantis Rugby players were able to make their debuts for our program that weekend.

As the fall approached we re-started the 15s Academy sessions while most of the players were participating in their Fall 7s competitions with their home clubs. Once those wrapped up we traveled down to the Old North State Invitational. Our U19 Boys, U16 Boys, and U19 Girls combined for a 9-2 record across the weekend and both of the Boys’ sides earned tournament Championships.

Two weeks after Old North State we took U19 and U16 Boys sides to Mount St. Mary’s to play against Pittsburgh and Young Glory. Our Boys went 2-1 on the weekend to give our program an overall 23-3 record in 15s in 2025.

November wouldn’t be complete without a trip to New York 7s where we entered 5 sides this year. They included Senior Women, HS Girls Elite, Two HS Girls Open sides, and 1 HS Boys side. The teams went a combined 21-6 with our Senior Women leading the way with a 6-0 record and a tournament championship in their first appearance in New York since 2021. Our other undefeated side was the HS Girls Black side.

Last but not least was Grenada which included Senior Men and Senior Women. The Senior Men went undefeated to win the tournament and the women took third place.

In total Atlantis Rugby put 29 sides on the field in 2025 from U14 up to Senior Adult and 10 of them went undefeated with many more making the top 3 in their respective competitions. We were also well represented on the National Team, various select sides and all star teams, territorial competitions, and the new Women’s 15s professional league.

Lastly, despite it only being January we have already had approximately two dozen Class of 2026 High School graduates announce their intentions to play college rugby this fall and we look forward to announcing plenty more between now and June.

We’d like to conclude this recap by thanking everyone, sincerely from the bottom of our hearts, for supporting our program through the years. The home clubs that provide our players do an outstanding job of preparing them and every single person, whether they be a coach, player, parent, referee, admin, volunteer, etc plays a huge role in that. Thank you so much!
