Now that the 2025-2026 competition cycle is coming to a close Atlantis Rugby would like to provide everyone with a roadmap of what things are going to look like in 2026-2027. This article will include our remaining schedule for this summer as well as information on how to get involved in our 7s and 15s programs going forward.
Please note that this preview applies mostly to U18 and under, but we will be identifying additional opportunities for U23 and Senior Adult athletes. Updates will be posted on our website and social media throughout the year so stay tuned!
This upcoming weekend, June 18-21, the U18 Girls will be playing 15s in the Buckeye Invitational Academies Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. As the 15s program continues to grow, the Atlantis Girls’ goal is to send two sides to the Old Northstate Invitational Academies Championship in November.
The U18 and U16 Boys will also be playing 15s this month. They will be at the Mid-Atlantic Academies Championships at Mount Saint Mary’s University from June 25-27. Similar to the girls, the returning players will be building to the Old Northstate Invitational this fall.
There will be some 7s this month as Atlantis partners with Warmi rugby from Ecuador to compete with a mixed squad in the Crea Pro 7s Tournament taking place in Barranquilla, Colombia on June 27-28.
July will be a busy month for us as our U14 and U16 Girls compete in the Surf n Turf 7s tournament hosted by the San Diego Surfers on July 11. The following weekend, on Friday July 17, we will be having our first Player ID opportunity of the 2026-2027 cycle at Surfside 7s in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Registration for this camp is currently open at:Â https://rockymountainregister.com/enroll/atlantis/login.asp?programid=2
To close out the summer, Atlantis Rugby will be competing in the North American Invitational in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 31 – August 1. We will be sending U14 and U16 Boys as well as a U23 Men’s side.
After a short break, we will be sending a U23 Women's side to Stellenbosch, South Africa in the beginning of September. We will be competing against the U23 National Teams for Canada, Australia, Ireland, Botswana, and Japan.
Additionally, we will be having a U14-U18 Player ID and Development Camp on September 13 in a location TBA in the Philadelphia area. Once those details are finalized our website will be updated and we will promote via newsletter and social media. This event will give players an opportunity to earn selection to both our 7s and 15s sides.
Following the camp we will have an open-enrollment Atlantis Development and Training Academy from September-October that will be 15s focused but certainly beneficial for 7s players as well. These sessions will be in the central/eastern PA area and are open to all high school players who would like to push themselves to the next level. The Fall Academy will build to the Northstate Academies Championships and College Showcase in November of 2026. The Academy will then pick up in April-June.
Players who participate in our Development Academy, particularly those who are selected to our tournament teams, can be selected into the USA Rugby Pathways programs:
Boys are recommended into the USA Pathways East Territory development pool.
Girls use these events as a platform for USA ID camps and the Girls U18 Territorial Championship in February.
Both are selection pathways for USA High Performance programs and provide college recruitment opportunities.
Â
Players outside of the East region can apply for selection to our 7s and 15s teams by completing the "New Player Identification form" on our website, Atlantisrugby.com, or here: New Atlantis Player Identification form - Google FormsÂ
Â
Following the Fall Academy we will be competing in:
New York 7s the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Tobago 7s (senior men and women) in December.
Portugal 7s in February.
Tropical 7s the week leading up to Easter.
Surf n Turf 7s (girls only) next summer.
North American Invitational 7s, also in summer of 2027.
Â
As well as the 15s Academies events in the fall, spring, and summer.
Â
Please keep an eye on our website and social media for additional opportunities. We are looking into adding more camps at other times of year and in different locations.
