Young Glory Recap plus Atlantis Rugby Player Numbers Update

Updated: Jan 2

Atlantis Rugby Fall XV Academy Boys

On Sunday December 8, 2024, the Atlantis Rugby XV Academy took on Young Glory in Boys U18 and U16 matches on the scenic campus of Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland. Young Glory is the official pathway program for the Old Glory DC Major League Rugby team so these matches were a great opportunity for our players and a very fitting way to conclude our 2024 Fall Academy Program.

In the U18 match Atlantis had a very strong performance on both attack and defense and earned a 26-5 victory. Tries were scored by Isaac Russell (second row), Danny Francis (Number 8), Jerry Krcewski (wing), and Justin Kaplan (inside center).

In the U16 match the attack was excellent, putting 35 points on the board, but it wasn’t quite enough to secure a victory as we ended up losing 35-38. Tries were scored by Michael Addesso (prop, two tries), Gavin Graham (Number 8, two tries), and Jack Sugalski (flanker) with flyhalf Jamie Weir going a perfect 5/5 on conversions.

Co-ed, birth year 2006-2012. 2006 and 2008 age grades are eligible for selection to our HP performance teams, to include competitions in February, May, and June TBD. We will be competing against other state, regional, and MLR Academy programs in matches and tournaments after the end of the local area SBRO competitions. Any questions, please contact Jack Foley, 610-405-4734 or foley@atlantisrugby.com.”
