Atlantis Rugby had a phenomenal weekend at New York 7s bringing home the Cup in High School Girls Premier along with the Bowl in High School Girls Club. The teams combined to go 7-1 on the day with 200 combined points scored and only 84 allowed.
The Premier side went 5-0 overall with the following results in pool play:
24-17 over Rugby Advantage Red
31-0 over Upright Rogues Rugby
26-7 over Quebec rugby
And the following results in the knockout rounds:
14-5 over Rugby Advantage Black in the semifinals
17-12 over Halifax Tars to win the tournament championship.
Overall that’s a point differential of +71 or 14.2 points per match.
Annie Huettel of North Bay served as Captain for the Premier side and Annie Henrich of Orchard Park earned Tournament MVP honors.
The Club side went 2-1 overall with the following split in pool play:
26-7 win against Play Rugby USA
12-31 loss to Aspetuck Valley
This placed them into the Bowl Final where they won 50-5 against the Elite Girls Rugby League to secure the hardware.
Their point differential was +45 on the day or 15.0 points per match.
