Atlantis Rugby Wins New York 7s! + Player Number Update!

Atlantis Rugby Girls Premier with Championship Trophy
Victorious Atlantis Rugby Girls Premier Side

Atlantis Rugby participated in New York 7s over the weekend with 3 high school girls sides in action! The players came together from 21 different programs in 15 different states to put together an incredible weekend going 10-2 overall. They were aided by an extremely strong coaching staff that included Lauren Shissler and Ali Liquori with the Premier side, Karl Barth and Lisa Henrich with the Club Teal side, and the trio of Mitch Vannoy, Stacy Mancuso, and Siena Accardi with the Club Black side. It should be noted that Siena is a player unable to compete this weekend due to injury but who willingly stepped up as an assistant to find a way to help the program.

(As more becomes available we will share on our social media/with the teams)

We would also like to take a moment to acknowledge Rugby PA who won the Bowl in Boys Premier, made the Plate Semi-Final in Boys Club, and made the Bowl Final in Girls Club. Many of their selectors and coaches come from our program and their boys sides had a total of 14 Atlantis players across two sides. In Boys Premier we were represented by Aaron Kelly, Chris Whitcomb, Dylan Hessels, Jamie Weir, Justin Kaplan, Liam McGettigan, and Roman Cammarata. In Boys Club we were represented by Alex McGinnis, Dom Pecora, Jack Sugalski, Jackson Reilly, James Burke, James Heffernan, and Jayden Qureshi.

We held off on doing a Player Number update following the recent Old North State Invitational 15s event because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise of reaching Player number 2000 so here is an update on the player numbers that were awarded for both North State and New York 7s. A subsequent update will go out following this upcoming weekend’s tournament in Grenada and Academy match.
