The Atlantis Rugby Girls “Black” side went 5-0 at New York 7s this year and thanks to some diligent note-taking from Lisa Huff Henrich we have player statistics available for them.

Leading the way with 30 total points is Sydney Haddon who scored 4 tries and made 5 conversions. Right behind Sydney was Ellie Nurss whose 2 tries and 7 conversions accounted for 24 total points. Try scoring co-leader Kohme Yamazaki was next with 4 tries and 20 points and Alys Phillips added 3 tries for 15 points. Olivia Shepler, Daryn Maloni, and Lia DeMarco each scored 2 tries and Bianca Petrucci also scored a try. The overall team total was 20 tries and 12 conversions across 5 matches for 124 points.

We don’t have tackling statistics available, but the coaching staff mentioned that Kohme Yamazaki would likely be at the top of the list with a special mention for several timely try-saving tackles.

It takes a big effort to go undefeated at a competitive tournament like New York 7s and that work starts well before the tournament itself begins.
